Clean Truck Technologies Developing at Rapid Pace

The rollout of zero-emission commercial vehicles and the infrastructure to support it is proceeding with added urgency as clean air regulators in California have set aggressive targets to phase out the diesel engines that have powered the trucking industry for generations.

Wyoming Proposes A Voluntary Phase-Out Of EV Sales By 2035

The legislature in Wyoming is proposing a resolution for a voluntary ‘phase-out’ of electric vehicle (EV) sales by 2035, in a symbolic move aimed at supporting the state’s oil and gas industry and a response to states such as California and New York, which have said they would ban the sale of new gasoline-powered cars from 2035.

Diesel Price Declines Forecast to Continue Into 2023

In something akin to a gesture of holiday good will, diesel prices at the pump have continued to drop and analysts expect 2023 to bring more of the same. According to AAA, the average price per gallon for diesel on Friday in the U.S. was $4.80, down nearly 20 cents from a week prior and down 55 cents from last month’s average.

Exxon Mobil Makes First Oil Discovery In Angola In 20 Years

Over the past five years, the United States’ largest independent oil and gas company, Exxon Mobil (NYSE: XOM), has mostly focused its exploratory activities in South America. Last month, the oil major announced that it had made two new discoveries at the Sailfin-1 and Yarrow-1 wells in the Stabroek block offshore Guyana, potentially adding more barrels to one of the most closely watched new oil discoveries.

Four Reasons Why The U.S. Is Grappling With A Diesel Shortage

Last week, the Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported that distillate inventories were at their lowest levels since 2008. (The primary distillates are diesel, jet fuel ,and heating oil). However, in 2008 distillate levels were low coming out of spring. Currently, they are low going into fall. That’s far worse than the situation in 2008.
